Preface
This book was written by two authors who were married in 2021.
We—Elena Volkova and Sergei Ivanenko—have a lot in common. We stand for justice and freedom of conscience, and we categorically oppose lawlessness and violence toward innocent and honest people; so, we have written a book together about the steadfastness of Jehovah’s Witnesses under persecution.
Sergei Ivanenko’s book about Jehovah’s Witnesses, The People Who Are Never Without Their Bibles (1999), has quite often been seized during searches at the homes of believers. This prompted him to start writing a new book.
Elena Volkova attended several court trials with her husband and became acquainted with Jehovah’s Witnesses; she felt sympathy for them and conducted several interviews, which resulted in the series “Witness Women in Court.”
We are grateful to all those who agreed to be interviewed, offered suggestions, supported this book, and helped us to get it published.
The book is presented to you, dear readers. Draw your own conclusions. And send us your feedback by e-mail at JWstoikie@gmail.com.
